Waterelves

Quite possibly the most unique type of elf, the Waterelves are the result of pure, unfiltered healing magic runnig through their blood.

A peaceful clan, the Waterelves refuse to go to war and do not fight unless someone is actively harming them or someone they care for. They use most defensive magic spells to great effect, and their skills are unmatched.

One of the curious things about the Waterelves is that they seem to me a matriarchal society, meaning the women are in charge. Very few Waterelf men are ever seen, and when they are they seem to have little to no power.

Another curious thing about the Waterelf is their form. Waterelves are granted with the gift of eternal youth, and even to they day they die they appear that age of twenty human years.

The final curiosity of the Waterelves is their transformation. Upon reaching a certain level of power, they go into a dangerous cocoon which sends out white silken strands. Though beautiful, the strands attach to anything close to the cocoon, and drain it of magic and life. Anyone attached to the strands must make a (Difficult) level magical saving throw or else have their magical abilities removed, and then must roll again, this time an (Easy) difficulty roll to see if they can remove it before their life is absorbed.

After the end of the cocoon's tendril stage (about 15-30 minutes) it remains dormant for 24 hours, causing immense pain to the Waterelf inside, morphing and twisting their body. After the 24 hours, the cocoon splits open, revealing the Waterelf nude except for a pair of newly sprouted pair of wings.

The wingspan of each individual Waterelf varies with their power, the largest ever seen was a total of 12 feet.

This "transformation" happens a total of three times in a Waterelf's life, but most Waterelves reach only the first stage. Each time it happens and the Waterelf exits the cocoon, they receive an extra pair of wings.

Ability: Transformation: At tiers 2, 5, and 7 Spell Level, the Waterelf goes into a cocoon state mentioned above within 24 hours of the change of tier. Any and all life around the Waterelf when it transforms is at risk for death. After the transformation, they receive the following ability:
Ability: Fly: Can fly 2xSTAM miles per pair of wings. (Second pair = 4xSTAM, Third pair = 6xSTAM) Wings have separate hitpoints, the hitpoints are 1d20xLvl for each wing. (goes up by 1d20 each level) Wings CAN be used as shields.
