Tristan Thorn was a young man when he was recruited by the Order Imperial. He was an anxious lad since birth, who sought adventure on the open waters, seeking any and all things he had never come across before.
However, his life change when his crewmates found the Waterelf Yvaine Trinity. However, soon what was once a mercy rescue by his companions became a sick and twisted fantasy by his lovelorn companions of the Order Imperial aboard the ship.
Wrought by her torment, he arranged for her escape and in the dead of night stole on of the ship's small lifeboats and set Yvaine upon it, allowing her to escape from the boat that had become a living nightmare to her.
However, he himself was found out and convicted of dereliction of duty; a capital crime.
As his punishment, he was taken to the depths of the Imperial Archives, where devilish experiments where wrought upon his body. This was no ordinary archive - tainted by darkness, it was a sick and twisted place where only the worst criminals where forced after their trial.
However, unfairly, his former companions warped the laws and refused him a fair trial, instead causing him to be taken directly to the hellish depths of the Archives.
There he was experimented upon, infusing him with frightening powers over water while wasting away his physical form. Only by a sudden flash of light was he salvaged from something more terrible than death...
